Reflection of You

An emotional reaction is much quicker than a thoughtful one
We instinctively respond and react to situations, people and life in general emotionally first and then quickly thought follows.
When we see children laughing and playing, people arguing, experience things that make us happy or things that make us sad we instinctively react with a feeling.  Then our mind quickly jumps in and assesses, judges and tries to make sense of what we have observed and experienced. In an instant our feelings are overlooked, dis-regarded and ignored and logic takes over.

These instant, intuitive feelings are the essence of who we really are.
Instinctively – Now there’s a very powerful word
We’ve all been in a situation where in the moment an instinctive feeling immediately comes over us about what to do, but often we overlook it and become aware of our thoughts and are soon following them instead of trusting ‘our intuition – gut feeling – instinct’. Our Soul Guidance.
That situation we think ‘now dealt with’, we carry on with our lives until the next event happens and we all know that in life there are always events and situations happening daily which we find ourselves reacting to.

Feelings guide our emotions
A Thinking Reaction
Often we find ourselves re-running these scenarios in our mind and begin to wonder if there might have been a different way of handling them.
As life is made up of happenings to do with ourselves or others, suddenly we find our mind is on overload and before we know it our head is totally filled with thoughts, thoughts and more thoughts. Some to do with present issues but mostly to do with un-resolved issues that have already happened.

Your mind is constantly re-running all of these things seeking a different outcome.

Why? - because something just doesn’t feel right.

How tiring this is for us with never a moment’s peace and quiet, just a busy, busy, busy mind which won’t switch off and exhausts us.
A Feeling Guidance
Now, what if we take a different approach to these ‘life’ situations and re-visit and observe our initial reaction.  The feeling we instinctively had and ignored and look at the outcome if we had responded to that. Most times the outcome would have been different and we wouldn’t have a busy mind full of thoughts keeping us awake at night.
If we had reacted to our gut-feeling, instinct, intuition, our Soul Guidance and didn’t listen to the chatter in our head we would feel more settled about the decisions we made because they probably would have been more appropriate.

Responses
Emotions are more powerful than thoughts. They affect our heart and soul and are with us forever. Thoughts are only there as long as we allow them to be.

Thoughts are based on judgement, fear, our own perception of things and can make us feel very uncertain and nervous.
But
Emotions are our real way of dealing with life and can enhance our sense of calm and stillness.

This is the difference between the real you in the present and the unknown you in the past.

Which would you prefer? – A disconnection to yourself with a constantly busy mind always filled with thoughts and concerns, feeling unsettled on the outside.
Or
A Connection to the true essence of You feeling calm with a still mind and peaceful within.
So as each life situation comes looming towards us we all have this remarkable ability and gift to experience less stress and busy-ness in our lives. We just need to slow down and pay more attention to the way we feel in our heart and soul in any given problem, situation or concern rather than listen to what the thoughts in our head are telling us.
We all have issues going on, and so in these brief moments observe and be aware of these situations and begin to take notice of how you Feel rather than what you are Thinking.
